The girl behind fkjournal

I'm Ifa. A designer with experience as a developer.
People might think I'm becoming a designer because I can't survive coding.
But ... you should know that I still code ...

I was a coder. But then I realize that I don't like the idea of thinking about the code even in my dream. That's why I retired and start my career as a designer around five years ago.

I worked in a company called Techno Infinity as a lead designer there. In the reality, I also have a share in that company 😀

For some reason, I let the company grow better by having someone taking the lead at design department and I move into Marketing department, since they don’t have people to work on that area.

And now, beside doing the job as a Digital Marketer, I’m also working as UI/UX Designer in Reporty remotely from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia.

Path to UI/UX Designer

I’m not very confident to called myself a Senior Designer or Middle level, since I know there’s some people with more capabilities in those field can provide better UI Design, even if I’m already in this field for more than 5 years. But … I’m very confident with my experience for a different kind of project that I worked on.

My works is more … strategic. About to ensure the process is clear for the designer, the stakeholder and of course for the user. Although, in the end I still create a UI design too.

Back in Techno Infinity, I work with certain type of developer that have their own freewill. A debate about some small updates that matter for us but makes no different in their eyes feels like my everyday snacks.

But from that, I learn to have an empathy to them, without stepping on my boundaries as a UI/UX Designer. More or less, I understand how to have a healthy discussion with them and try talking with them in the same level of understanding with them.

That experience truly makes me can communicate better to the developer team about the design and also find a way if it’s not understandable.

I Like to Learn Something New

Beside doing the work things related to UI/UX Design and web development, I have many hobby and I stick into it. I even spare the time to do that in my hectic days, just to calm my mind a bit.

I craft a bracelet in my free time. And now I just started to create a digital notion product for ramadan productivity. You could check on “shop” in the end of January. I also do a content in my personal instagram, but it’s not about design 😀

I almost spend my time in front of a screen more than 10 hours a day. That’s why I need a hobby to keep me alive outside the screen (Even though I also likes playing video games. What an irony.)

My Teammate's Perspective

As I know depend on my own perspective to myself is like what a narcissist does, I asked my team mates and friend to point out what’s good from collaborating with me.

Amalia HTeammate in Reporty
An adaptive teammate is a very fitting description for Ifa. She is highly critical in a positive way, always thinking five steps ahead and considering the long-term impact of her decisions. She consistently takes the initiative to seek out information and clarify things whenever something feels unclear or off. Beyond that, Ifa is dependable and thoughtful in her approach to collaboration. She communicates her ideas clearly, raises important questions, and is never afraid to challenge assumptions when it leads to a better outcome. Working with her makes collaboration smoother, more efficient, and ultimately more impactful for the team.
